The first four Words of the Holy Bible will always commence, “In the beginning God….”. Truer Words have not been spoken. The Truth we need to know is that before anything else was created either inside the Earth, or created outside the Earth, God was, God is, and God will always continue to be in existence. Whether that created thing is immaterial, or of a substance known, or of a phenomena we human beings find to be a scientific enigma there is nothing in the physical cosmos, or any meta-physical dimension that His Highness God does not know about. In the words of the Psalmist, “Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold Thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there Thy hand shall hold me. If I shall say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light unto me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from Thee; but the night shineth like the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to Thee”. Psalm 139: 7-12. There is no where a person, nor a spirit can go to escape God. All things were created by the Almighty God the Creator of the heavens and the Earth, and the holy One of Zion our Father and Maker. He created all things through His Son, the Head of the Christian Church on Earth, Jesus Christ. If you are a Christian, God is the One “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption in His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him: and He is before all things, and before Him all things consist”. Colossians 1:13-17.
The Bible reiterates that fact in the first Chapter of John, and verses 1 through 17 explain Jesus Christ, as the Creator of all things.
There is a kingdom that rules in this current world as well. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God should shine unto them”. 2 Corinthians 4: 3-4. The wicked character that passage refers to was created by God, and he rules his own empire. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. Ephesians 6:12. Christ’s kingdom will eventually crush this kingdom of darkness, and He will replace it’s rule with His own kingdom. The question is, How did this kingdom of darkness get to rule on the earth in the first place?
Before God created the physical universe He created the Angels (Hebrew for “Messengers”). Angels are a vast race of superbeings made to serve His interest, and the majority of them will bow down, and worship the True and living God (Elohim). Angels hold different ranks, and there are different types of these angels. The angels described in the holy scriptures that we are familiar with are Arch-angels, Cherubim, Watchers, and Seraphim. The “Apocrypha” which were once considered holy books, and for one reason, or another are not included in the Holy Bible speaks of other types of angels. Ophanim also comes to mind. All angels have names, and while the Holy Bible (Canon) names only three of God’s created angels, namely, Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer, the Apocrypha names even more holy angels: Raphael, Uriel, Phanuel, etc.. Evil angels are also named as well, but despite their specific types there are basically three groups of angels? Yes I said “three”. Hebrews 12:22; Isaiah 6; Genesis 3:24; Exodus25:18-22; Daniel 4:23. Those three groups consist of the good, the bad, and the ugly. While it is generally believed angels cannot be seen with the naked eye they are able to materialize when necessary, and they have been recorded in the bible during various times.
God created the angels before He created the Earth, and the Book of Job, which is believed to be the oldest book on the planet goes into this truth. God questions Job, “Where wast thou when I laid the foundation of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding, Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Whereupon are the foundations fastened? Or Who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars (Angels) sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Job 38:4-7. I would like to say in the Bible the pluralist term “sons of God” in the Old Testament consistently refers to angels when used in this context, but in the New Testament the same term designates Christian believers as the “sons of God”, and the term is no longer applied to the angelic creation. In the New Testament Christians become “joint-heirs” with Christ, and the term is used for true believers in the Church. Romans 8:14,17.
I will ask a question, Is it possible that the earth we currently live on was re-created? In other words, Did angels inhabit this world prior to men? Are many still around? And is “the accuser” of our brethren taking notes on believers to slander us in the eyes of the God of Israel? Or are they simply telling the truth on the sins we commit? Another question, Where does much of today’s controversial New Age beliefs come from? UFO’s? Astrology? Oijia boards? Abductons? I can say, there are many Christian groups who believe angels inhabited this world before humans did, and the Bible let’s us know they are still around. The Bible plainly states angels can communicate with us, and Christian believers are appointed guardian angels. Hebrews 1:13-14; 13:2; Psalm 34:7. Wicked angels can also demonically possess human beings, and cause diabolically inspired behavior, but there is absolutely no indication that a holy angel of God possesses believers. Luke 11:17-26. Instead, God’s holy Spirit indwells Christian believers. Ephesians 4:30.
When God addresses Satan’s prior roll in His holy kingdom, He informs the Prophet Ezekiel, that this angelic being once held a high position in His government. Ezekiel 28:11-19. He walked “in the midst of the stones of fire”. Nothing that God creates is originally damaged. Therefore, a more thorough beginning of the Bible could be found in John 1:1-17, because If what God creates is perfect, and He is not the Author of confusion, Why is the earth in Genesis “without form?” and “void?” 1 Corinthians 14:33. Could it be because it is a re-creation of an earlier work of the Lord ? Now, this angel as the story informs us saw himself as beautiful, and was proud of his beauty. He wanted a position above the God Who made him. Isaiah 14:12-14. His mind became corrupt and twisted in it’s thinking, and cleverness, scheming, and craftiness gained a foot hold in his though processes. We live on a stone of fire called “Earth”. At it’s core our planet is believed to be molten lava, and volcanoes sometimes demonstrate just how much lava can be spewed out of the core. If our planet is the stone of fire I believe God is refering to then Lucifer’s roll becomes more clearer. Lucifer was a traveler between the planets, and he was given a major responsibility over the other angels in God’s kingdom. There are some Christian groups who believe Jeremiah 4:23-29 is not refering to the contemporary world, but to a prior civilization that existed before our own. It reads, “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light”. Doesn’t this sound alot like Genesis 1:2? Let’s continue…. “I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and lo, there was no man, and all the birds of heaven were fled”. So, we have a time where there are no people, and no birds, but there are cities ? Let’s continue…. “I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by His fierce anger. For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above shall be blackened: because I have spoken it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it”. So, What do we have? The earth is dark, void, black, and without form, but is this occurence before the voice of God said, “Let there be light?” Could this time period have been before “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters?” The time period cannot be future, because the Bible promises there will only be light in the future. No more darkness will be in the new heavens and the new earth. Revelation 22:5. The book of Jonah demonstrates that for an important enough reason God will alter a previous policy. So, the following time period occured in the distant past, or Could it refer to the “Day of the Lord?” It cannot refer to the Day of the Lord’s judgement, because each time in the Bible when that period is discussed it distinctly connects that phrase to the usuage.
If the period is before the creation chronology we have in Genesis 1 the question arises, What could cause the earth to be in such turmoil and destruction? The angelic wars in Revelation 12:7-9 could be the reason for the carnage produced on the earth. The passage in Revelation 12:7-9 seems to be a pre-war, and also at some point a coming war as well. There is a book in the apocrypha that explains that the angels could not overcome Satan’s one third rebellious faction until Christ intervened. It is clear that Satan lost that war, and took one third of God’s heavenly host with him. This universe has suffered battle scars, and it is destined to be radically transformed by the living God into a new creation. Actually, the process has already begun, and the creation is co-changing along with the Church whom will be born into it. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us…..For we know that the whole creation groaneth and paineth together until now”. Romans 8:18,22. The creationary (Universe) process along with the planets, star systems, cosmos, asteroids, comets, and the saved in today’s Church like a giant womb are going through a massive evolutionary process of transformation. God’s final masterpiece is near at hand, and that is why our minds must change to become more like the mind of Jesus. The Church must allow God to be the Master Potter over our own lives, and over the whole of creation to inherit the beauty of God’s heavenly Utopia. Jesus cleansing process does that, and more of this is described in 1 Corinthians 15:20-58. The promised bride is being prepared for the Lamb of God, and that wedding will have universal repercussions. YES! HOLLYWOOD, NASA, AND THE REST! THERE IS LIFE OUT THERE.
Now, between the four smaller inner planets, and the four larger outer planets there sits an Asteroid belt of floating rocks. There are some who believe there was potentially, and possibly another planet that was once situated between the planets Mars and Jupiter. There are many in the scientific community that believe a near by planet would not have interfered with the Earth, or Martian electromagnetic fields or rotations. It is believed the planet was blown up. With rebel angels making a war against His kingdom, Is it surprising to anyone if God Who controls all things destroyed that planet from our solar system? And could He have done so to destroy their base of operations? If the planets are these “stones of fire” in our midst the Cydonian region on the Martian surface, and the infamous “face” located there must be re-examined through biblical lens. Also, the newly discovered hexagon in Saturn’s polar region must also be considered for biblical links to a marvelous past our solar system once held, and is still hiding.
Anyway, after the Lord announces light to the earth there were angelic beings already here. Adam and Eva are tempted in the garden, and their fall along with the whole of humanity, and nature follows when they disobey God’s decree to refrain from going after forbidden fruit.
In the ‘First Epistle (Letter) of Peter’ we read, “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited IN THE DAYS OF NOAH (Now we have a time precedent)….” Who was disobedient? The preceeding verse answers that: “By which also He went and preached to the spirits in prison”. 1 Peter 3:19-20. Or, God waited for those who were disobedient to become obedient during the days of Noah. Who are the spirits in prison? Apart from Satan’s original rebellion there was another group of angels that later rebelled as well, but this time they were not thrown out of heaven, but departed away to the earth. What could cause an angelic creature of God to leave heaven’s paradise against God’s will, and alter His intentions for the earth? We are given a hint in 1 Corinthians 11. It warns women to cover their heads in worship towards God, and states that a woman’s hair is good enough to do the covering. But why? Why does the passage say a woman should cover her head? Here’s the startling answer “For this cause ought a woman to have power over her head BECAUSE OF THE ANGELS”. 1 Corinthians 11. During the days of Lot, when Lot hosted angels sent by God to destroy Sodom the angels who were sent solidified enough so that the men living in Sodom wanted to rape them. During the days of Abraham the angels that visited his home ate his food, and he gave them milk to drink.
If we stay in line with that time period we can see the results of this second rebellion in 2 Peter 2. The chapter begins by talking about those saints who will follow after erred teachings subliminally brought into the church by “false teachers”. It states that such teachings will enter through “covetousness” which is another term for “lust”. There are going to be those who will make short change of the people of God through false teachings. The Church is taught to “try the spirits” to see whether they are from God, and the gift of discerment was given to some saints by the Holy Spirit for that very reason. Those who have this gift are there to see if certain teachings line up with the Word of God. Unlike Satan and his demons, not all angels are loose to roam the Earth. satan is powerful, and most of the wicked rebel angels who follow him are still lower in rank. However, underneath the earth there are still angels in prison who are suffering. “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgement…”. 2 Peter 2:3-4. In Jude, the theme is along the same lines as 2 Peter 2, but Jude informs us, “And the angels which kept not their first estate, BUT LEFT their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto judgement of the great day” Jude 6. Why ? What crime did they conduct ? The next verse explains, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, AND GOING AFTER STRANGE FLESH, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeanse of eternal fire”. Jude 7. Once again the theme is sexual lust, and this passage is in direct conjunction with Genesis 6. Again, we see this term “sons of God” in Genesis 6, and I already explained above how I feel about the usuage of that phrase.
There were two angelic rebellions, and while satan and his army sought to force change via violence, due to his pride to lead heaven’s host, the second rebellion came when a group of Watchers voluntarily left heaven, and fell through sexual lust for human women. It’s important to mention that not all of the Watchers rebelled, and most still follow God. Unfortunately, the Roman Catholic Church was successful in banning the once beloved ‘Book of Enoch’, but the Bible still has enough information to get the story through to today’s readers. The early Christian Church considered this book Canon, and it’s “scriptures” were found with the rest of the Old Testament by Archeologist in the infamous “Dead Sea Scroll” discoveries. Although, there was much praise for Christ in the Book of Enoch, some in the Catholic Church took it upon themselves to ban the book, and announced it to be heretical in it’s content. Undoubtedly, this is precisely what satan wanted, because the Book of Enoch reveals to much information about anti-Christian influential workers conspiring his policies on earth. Such workers are involved with these furtive practices both inside and outside the Church. In the words of Christ, “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest, I will say to the Reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bind them into bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn”. Matthew 13:30. As the old saying goes…the best thing the devil did was to convince the world he does not exist.
I also believe the angels trapped underneath the earth are the rebel spirits that will be filled with fury, and loosened to wreak havoc on the earth. I feel such wicked spirits are mentioned in The Book of Revelation. Revelation 9:1-11. So, now we have three groups of angelic beings: Those loyal to God, those loyal to Satan, and those trapped underneath the earth awaiting judgement. The angelic realm trapped underneath the earth may eventually join Satan’s ranks when they are released, but their war will be short in duration, and God will martial all the forces of heaven’s holy angels in all the universe to crush any uprisings by evil angels. That is also why satan hates the Book of Revelation, because it reveals his demise, and allows the reader the opportunity to believe, trust, and get on the winning side with God. Of course the battle was really won already at the cross, but there are those who don’t take defeat well, and must be further crushed.
Well, if you have read this far I thank you, and may the Lord of Glory lead you by His holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to be on the winning side. Jesus shed His blood on the cross, and offers salvation freely to all who are willing to receive it. “For He hath made Him sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”. 2 Corinthians 5:21. “For the wages of sin is (eternal) death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23. “Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift” 2 Corinthians 9:15. Jesus Christ be your blessing. Amen.
