The good thing about the Bible is that it is the Word of a Holy God Whom has the ability to reveal the future. The good thing about the Bible is that it reveals to us “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16. The good thing about the bible is that it reveals to us God “ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men…for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Til we come in the fullness of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”. Ephesians 4:12-13. In Corinthians 12:4-11 we can view a list of those gifts. For now, I desire to focus on just two of them: Prophecy and Discernment. The first time the Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth to save humanity He came in the flesh to save human beings for eternal happiness. During such a time He criticized the Pharisees and the Saducees for failing to discern the critical time, in whence, they lived saying, “When it is evening ye say, It will be fair weather for the sky is red. And in the morning it will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky: but can ye not discern the signs of the times?” Matthew 16:2-3. They should have recognized Him as their Savior and Messaiah. Yet, alas “For I would not brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, less you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness “IN PART” is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is My covenant to them when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Fathers sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance”. Romans 11:25-29. This invites hope of course. Moreover, in the days of ancient Israel the Israeli tribe of Issachar had this distinction: “And the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment”. 1 Chronicles 12:32. This “understanding of the times” is vital concerning the second coming of the Lord Yeshua (Jesus Christ) Moshiach, and we must pay heed to the signs…”Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived”. 2 Timothy 3:12-13.
